February 2, 2026 by Centre for Medieval Studies

CMS Alumnus, Cameron Wachowich completed his dissertation at CMS with a thesis entitled, "Orosius Insularis: Studies on the Transmission and Reception of Orosius’s Historiae adversus Paganos in Britain and Ireland to c. 1100". Since then, he has held a position as a Teaching Associate in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic at Cambridge University.

More recently, Dr. Wachowich was elected a Fellow-Commoner at Magdalene College. He has published on medieval Irish classical reception, the reception of Arthurian literature in Irish bardic poetry, and the enigmatic word, ormesta. His interests range across the languages and literatures of medieval Europe, and occasionally further afield to include medieval literature, both Latin and vernacular, historical linguistics, palaeography and textual criticism.

Congratulations, Dr. Wachowich!
