Congratulations to CMS / ISPLAS Professor Elisa Brilli, who has been nominated as a voting member of the Dante Society of America (DSA) Council for the 2026–2029 term, beginning this fall. A specialist in Dante studies and medieval Italian literature, Professor Brilli’s research explores the connections between history, literature and cultural memory in Dante’s works. Her nomination recognizes her contributions to the field and her ongoing involvement in the international community of Dante scholars.
Professor Brilli has been active in the Dante Society of America, serving on the editorial board of Dante Studies and chairing the Bibliographic Committee. In this role, she helped establish a partnership between the DSA and the Società Dantesca Italiana, which led to the launch of the International Dante Bibliography, a unique resource for scholars and students worldwide. In 2019, the University of Toronto hosted the DSA Annual Meeting—the first time the event had been held in Canada since the Society’s founding in 1881. The meeting was held with the International Seminar on Critical Approaches to Dante (ISCAD), founded by Professor Brilli in 2016.
Congratulations, Professor Brilli!
