Congratulations to two CMS PhD Candidates, Mary Maschio and Matthew Reid, both of whom have been awarded the CMS Publication Prize!
"La chemise de Soredamor, entre la légende de Tristan et les récits de croisade" by Mary Maschio appears in Economia 46 (pp.115-131). The article suggests an additional source for the shirt embroidered by Soredamor in Cligès, symbolizing the double matière of the romance.
Matthew Reid's "On the Meanings of Decor and Dignitas in Bede’s Account of Cædmon" appears in Notes and Queries 72(4) (pp.299-303), and analyses Bede's translation of Cædmon’s Hymn and the difficulty of translating Old English verse into Latin.
