Publications of the Dictionary of Old English Expanded Scope

February 21, 2026 by Centre for Medieval Studies

The editors of the Publications of the Dictionary of Old English have broadened the scope of the series to consider the culture, history, and literature of England from the seventh to the twelfth century. They intend to publish new scholarship in Old English language and literature, Anglo-Latin, antiquarianism, art history, material culture, palaeography, and religion, while also continuing to welcome proposals for volumes that focus more narrowly on lexicography and glossography. Publications in the series will include monographs, collections of essays, and editions of primary texts.
