Biography

My research revolves around analysing the nature of belief in the structure of medieval organisations and society. I am particularly interested in the role which historical methodologies play in the historicization of philosophical, theological, and phronetic belief systems. As such, I am presently involved in considering how sense experience shaped the everyday activities of monastics during the twelfth century, with an emphasis on the Cistercian movement. I am also involved in teaching Renaissance Studies at U of T, particularly Italian history and the Reformation.
