Eva Plesnik successfully passes FOE

Congratulations to Eva Plesnik, who successfully defended her dissertation, "In the Shade on Parnassus: Places of Otium in Renaissance Humanism" on January 16, 2026. A note of thanks is extended to Supervisor Will Robins, Committee Members Greti Dinkova-Bruun, Elisa Brilli, and Erik Gunderson, as well as to appraisers Laura Ingallinella, and Timothy Kircher (Guilford College).

Eva completed her MA at CMS, and during her time here, presented research at several events, including the first series of the Centre's Convivium, the Toronto Salutes Dante project, and ISCAD5: Emotions & Communities. She also contributed to a number of publications, including The Dante Society's American Dante Bibliography for 2020Dante’s New Lives Biography and Autobiography, and Comitatus: A Journal of Medieval and Renaissance Studies.
