Lane Springer successfully passes FOE

July 22, 2025 by Centre for Medieval Studies

Congratulations to Lane Springer, who has successfully defended her thesis, "'As Many Saints as Stars': Irish Peregrini in Carolingian Hagiography (8th-10th centuries)" which examines how religious pilgrims travelled, and how they were received, characterized, and integrated into new communities in medieval Europe. Lane completed a Master of Arts at CMS, and during her time here participated in several colloquia, including the Toronto-Washington Colloquium for the Study of the Bible and Theology in the Middle Ages, and the Toronto-Cologne Graduate Student Colloquium, and presented papers at external conferences such as IMC Leeds.

Congratulations, Dr. Springer!
