Title

Supervisors

Nicholas Everett

Description

This dissertation explores how the antidotes in St. Gall Stiftsbibliothek, Cod. Sang. 751 fit within the corpus of medical texts found within the manuscript. St. Gall 751 and the other ninth-century medical manuscripts from the abbey library will be examined in concert with the narrative and other sources to understand how medicine fit within monastic culture and the Carolingian Renaissance.
