Congratulations to CMS Professor Cillian O'Hogan who has been awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant to fund The Transmission and Reception of Prudentius in the Latin Middle Ages, a project which aims to "provide a comprehensive study of the influence of the Christian Latin poet Prudentius (348 - after 405) on the Latin poetry of the Middle Ages."
The project will study Prudentius' surviving manuscripts to determine the transmission and reception of his works, and will trace his poetry's reach across the major Latin poets of the 5th - 12th centuries, eventually resulting in a catalogue of manuscripts, a literary monograph, and four scholarly articles.
