Prof. Yolanda Iglesias wins John K. Walsh Award

Congratulations to Prof. Yolanda Iglesias, who has won the John K. Walsh Award for her essay “Revalorización de los conceptos de pecado y delito en las Siete Partidasy las Cantigas de Santa Maria”!

Prof. Iglesias's article was published in La corónica: A Journal of Medieval Hispanic Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. The award is granted annually by the Modern Language Association Forum in memory of John K. Walsh (1939-1990), an internationally renowned scholar in medieval Spanish literature.

Iglesias received the award, along with a cash prize, in a formal ceremony on January 8 at a virtual social for La corónica, during the MLA's annual convention. The social and convention were held online this year due to covid.

Prof. Iglesias's article appears in La corónica 48 (2020): 69-102. Current and previous award winners are published in La corónica each spring.
