The CNRS/U of T PhD Mobility Funding Programme, established in 2020, supports international collaboration and mobility for PhD students and researchers between the two institutions. Professors Elisa Brilli (CMS Director and Italian Studies Professor) and Etienne Anheim (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris) have been awarded one of the four grants this year. Their research project on "The Autonomization of Intellectuals in the Late Middle Ages" will cover for three years the mobility expenses of one 2nd-year CMS PhD student, Alex Bermudez Manjarres, to France and one EHESS PhD student coming to CMS soon!
